I just wanted to mention

... that I am buying vegetables from Jesus this Saturday.

Hee hee.

Jesus is an organic gardener, who will be starting to make trips to the campus so we can buy his fruit, vegetables, eggs, and rabbit meat. Which is exciting. But the best thing about it is the opportunity for silly jokes.

Hurray.

There was a Japanese student here called "Masaya", pronounced much like "Messiah", which produced many of the same pleasing word-play possibilities, especially before he arrived.

My parents' cat is called "Auntie", which I usually forget is much less normal than "Fluffy" or "Tiddles" except when people give my mother looks of incomprehension when she says things like "Auntie's been at the bins again!"

I love the fact that your parents' cat is called Auntie... so many great potential lines!

I am reminded of a line in an old episode of Old Harry's Game I was listening to yesterday on BBC7. Satan is posing as a BBC executive to try to bring about a moral awakening (it's complicated) but the other executives are getting suspicious and one of them says "What IS your background... I tried googling you and I got nothing... what kind of a surname is 'Diana Conspiracy' anyway?"

Hmmm, what about a cat called 'The Devil'... I like the idea of "The Devil's been at the bins again", or "The Devil's gone and got himself stuck in a tree". Or Pope Benedict, Queen Elizabeth, The Poet Laureate... the possibilities are endless...
